I've been experiencing poor signal in the general area of my home and the surrounding areas which is preventing me from using data and providing poor call quality. This has been happening since moving to the area in Setember. According to the network status checker a mast is down but is there anyway of knowing how long this will go on for as i am not receiving anywhere near the signal needed to use my phone reliably?

For that length of time it's most likely going to be replaced with a 5G mast, however, there is no way of knowing as O2 don't publish those details or timescales for repairs.
All you can do is register for updates and see what happens O2 Service Status
