Phone number spoofing?

Hello, for a few months now every few days I'll get people ringing me saying they have a missed call from me, has happened 30+ times now. Getting quite annoying, but also concern from security point of view if someone is faking my number to do scam calls. I don't know how it's even possible to call someone on a fake number.

Is there anything O2 can do to stop this?

Nothing anyone can do currently.

It's an industry wide issue that OFFCOM are looking into.

Ok so it's an known issue. I was mostly concerned from a security point of view. Thanks for your reply

They can only spoof a number to show on outgoing calls.

It isn't possible to spoof a number to receive incoming calls to it.
