I have been having issues with O2 signal and data for the last 18months.

In that 18months, I have replaced my SIM, I have tried turning on and off phone. I've changed settings as advised and still I have no signal.

I've tried my SIM in another device and it the same, but it the same for me whole family as we are all on O2. And we all have network issues, being that there is none.

I've contacted O2 and done the signal checker thing, and there is nothing wrong with the signal apparently.

The only time I have signal is when I am near the O2 mast at Scott Road Medical Centre, Selby. I live approx 1.3 miles from this mast and when I'm home ,I have to go upstairs and stand near the window at the front of the house to receive calls otherwise the call drops and I have to ring them back.

Is there anyways of improving the mast for stronger signal waves or building new masts around then??

I know after once this current contract ends, I'll be leaving O2 after 12years, due to no signal and data.

@Gary88

Help here: Guide: How can I sort out my network issues? and download the O2 My Network app from your phone store and set it up - it needs an account separate from your O2 or Community accounts. It monitors and feeds back to O2 the status of signal in your key areas of interest.

Finally, Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

Do buy PAYG SIM cards from other networks and test signal quality on those before you make the switch. Good luck!

Living near a mast means bod all, as it is whether the cells on the mast actually cover your locality.

There is a way but YOUR community will need to stump up the cash to get o2 to put in a mast or some infrastructure, as some other communities around the UK have done, or found a local business willing to pay for the mast...

Best thing to do is cancel and move elsewhere but as @pgn has said get some PAYG simcards and test or look at the likes of anywheresim who offer UK roaming sim cards..

I never had issues before, been with them for years and it's only recently in the last year or two that the issues have risen.

No worries, I'll be leaving o2, and hope to get a decent signal with another provider. Just need to wait until November when my contract finishes.
