Like many others I’ve upgraded from o2 to o2 using mobile phones direct for a much better deal. Am repeatedly being told my number is “in the process of being migrated” and will migrate “today” for the last 3 days. How can I escalate or resolve? This morning I’ve been told not to restart my new iPhone and I will get a notification before 6pm that it’s all been done….. I don’t hold out any hope!!

You have to persevere with O2 I'm afraid.
We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from here

The clue here is Mobile Phones Direct.
We have had a few posts from people who have similar problems.
It appears that there is an incompatibility between the systems used between dealers and O2.
Ask Mobile Phones direct if the problem still persists
