5G needs three things: a 5G-capable phone, 5G signal where you will be using the phone, a 5G SIM in your phone, and, yes, a 4th item: O2 to enable 5G on your account.

Easiest way is to take your old and new phones and any SIM you have, and some photo id, into an O2 Store - they can do the SIM Swap for you there and check your account, including iData (for iPhone) is set as it should be (or no visual voicemail!), including 5G enablement @OblyVyoN - would be a free service, and less prone to delay or failure than trying all that in your own. Good luck.

Oh, and no 5G if you are PAYG, only available to Contract customers 🤷

Depends on the age of your present SIM

You can get a replacement SIM card at an O2 shop  taking photo ID with you

Be aware 5G is not available everywhere and you will need to be in a good 5G area to test

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
