One of the masts that serves Buxton, Derbyshire was vandalised before Christmas. O2 have not even started the repair work even though they have admitted that the damage is affecting multiple masts in the area.

We are a town of 25,000 people with awful, sporadic, unreliable service from O2. Some people have kids who use their phones to  keep in touch with parents if they feel unsafe etc.

Local businesses are suffering (think about trying to run a taxi service without reliable comms) while O2 dither and delay.

They put the prices up by 15 percent last year but the service is shocking!

Anything to say Mr O2 ?

@Ambrop01

The mast is owned by Vodafone, and putting up a new mast, hopefully in a better part of Buxton where it wont be vandalised isn't a quick process, maybe ask High Peak District Council, if they can speed up planning and also come up with the cash for a temporary solution....

Maybe on top of the Hotel in the centre would be a good place..

For once this isnt o2's fault but the local vandals setting fire to a mast, leaving the town without mobile coverage..  But then its easy to blame o2 and Vodafone than YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY for destroying local critical infrastructure....

And come back with the facts that are everywhere even in the Buxton Advertiser and the Derbyshire Times...

Well, according to this article it's a complete rebuild.

Any changes in the build will most likely need planning permission and goodness knows what else.

Nothing that anyone on this forum can change, I'm afraid. Nor O2 customer services.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Well @  we aren't  Mr. O2

and what may befall you may befall us!  However your dilemma put me in mind of an article, I read,  that a message pigeon was arrested in India for suspected spying for China and kept for 8 months 😄 (It wasn't spying  as it happened and returned to Taiwan)!

Pigeons were extensively used for messages in India and are still kept today in India, in case of a disaster because they will always get through (very sensible).

May be with ALL our high tech, one day (when just about everything has collapsed) we could be back with these wonderful birds, what a 😊 joy, love to welcome my post like that.

In the meantime most high tech including masts are down to the person with a van and a screwdriver 🤣 overworked and short of parts.

Maybe we should train pigeons to fix the masts 🤐

Well it might help if we knew who we were talking to!

First time I've seen this 'Not Applicable' in a new post.

Simply ridiculous. 🙄
