I would like to know iif i was to send a text message from here in the UK to friends in the USA will THEY get charged for my text or just me?

If you are texting a USA number you pay for it.
Texts are free to receive on any network, anywhere in the world.

If the person you want to text in USA has a UK mobile number then the cost will be exactly the same as if they were standing next to you or would come out of your normal allowance. Your friend in USA would receive the text free of any charge.
