returned DD but bill paid?

So today my online banking shows my direct debit was taken and then returned to me, despite having enough in my account to cover it. I've checked with the online guru which confirmed that the bill had been paid and I am in no outsanding balance.

Has anyone had this? Or will O2 try and take the money out again?

Thanks

Hi @jasmine06 It may just need time to update. Please keep checking My O2 and your bill to make sure nothing further is taken. http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

If you have any other problems then contact O2 https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Just another thought...when does your contract end?

Its a 24month contract which I only started earlier this year.

Just confused as my bank and MyO2 say different things.

I guess it’s been requested and held in escrow so will probably update overnight when all payments are processed.

If the DD has been returned as unpaid by your bank, it can take a couple of days for this to be reflected on your O2 account - so it's worth checking again tomorrow/Thursday.

Also worth having a chat with your bank about why the funds have been returned to your account, as only they will be able to answer this - if not due to insufficient funds it could be for any number of other reasons, such as security concerns or no valid instruction being held.

I work for O2, however any advice or opinion given in this community should be considered my own and not necessarily representative of Telefónica UK Limited.
