You can go into shops like CPW and they offer an upgrade price on an 02 payg phone.
All they do is check your mobile and scan your sim card to check and then you can get the handset at a slightly cheaper price than just buying it on a new payg contract.

I went into CPW to buy a Asha 206 it was £39.99 with a £10.00 topup. because it was classed as a upgrade i didnt have to pay the topup and the phone was only £19.99. What a result.
Plus Most handsets in CPW are unlocked as well.!!!

Hello please allow me to hijack this thread,
I bought o2 payandgo phone from CPW on upgrade. This meant I got discount because the top-up requirement was waived. Few days later this phone turn out to be faulty so I returend and was told phone no longer in-stock therefore was refunded.
Now I tried to buy another o2 payandgo phone on upgrade offer but the eligility checks came resulted to contact CPW. When contacted I was told by the customer service/sales team person that I need to contact o2 to be considered for another upgrade offer because o2 system do the eligibility checks.
I talked to o2 staff at my local town shop but the gentleman said CPW must sort me out since I returned the phone and have not use the upgrade service. I have been on the phone to CPW for hours and even spoke to a manager. They all point the finger to o2.
Now my question; who does the checks? o2 or CPW. I have a refund receipt to prove that I did not benefit from this upgrade service.
