Zoom and MMS

For the last few weeks I have used zoom on my iPad to arrange coffee morning with friends. Never a problem. This week for some reason unknown to me my invitation was sent via O2 mobile with picture. I assumed I had made a mistake so tried a couple of times again. Now got a bill from O2 for £34! To clarify - I haven’t got the zoom app on my phone - only had phone 3 weeks. Any suggestions. It would appear MMS was switched on (all new to this over 70 year old)

Goto Settings >Messages > Scroll down to MMS Messaging and turn the slider off.
