We have both received new SIMs today - trying to get them activated is like trying to win the lottery. Each time we get the help desk they get cut off after 5 minutes and you have to start again - after spending the last hour we have got absolutely no where. I assume that because we have just opened this account it will be easy to cancel because I would have more luck talking to my dog than using the help desk.

Your sims should already by activated, so you just need to put them in your phone and you are good to go..
You would need to call o2 to cancel the sims if in the initial 14days Guide: Cancelling Your Contract
