Just to clarify: O2 Travel Inclusive, if available on your tariff or if you are a VM broadband and an O2 Contract customer,  the Volt Travel Inclusive benefit will cover you for your voice, data and text usage in-country and back to UK numbers.

O2 Travel is offered to any O2 Contract customer and costs £6 per day that you use it, as below and in the link shared by @MI5 above for international travel (for  Canada).

viz:

-  If you have the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On or the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Ultimate Bolt On, you can roam here at no extra cost.

Otherwise:

-  You can use the O2 Travel Bolt On, which gives you unlimited minutes, texts and data for just £6 a day. You can opt-in to O2 Travel by texting TRAVEL to 23336. You’ll only be charged for the days you use it.

@Helenkb3

Use WhatsApp over wifi.

Turn off voicemail Guide: All you need to know about O2 Voicemail 901

Keep mobile data off completely.

You may be able to use O2 Travel if available on your tariff https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Except your advice, not the guide, steered towards O2 Travel, @MI5 - not O2 Travel Inclusive (standard, Ultimate or Volt).

O2 being free and easy with naming their Travel products again, confusingly. 🙄
