I am very ignorant re settings when on a cruise. On port days I use 02 travel and everything comes out of my normal payment. On sea days I switch it off and don’t use it. What I would like is to be told what each setting should be set to as I’ve messed about with them and don’t now know what each should be either on a cruise or at home.  At the moment they are Airplane Mode = off, Wi-Fi= my home provider, Bluetooth = on, Mobile and roaming =  on, Personal Hotspot = Off.  These are settings I’m currently using at home.  I would really appreciate a list of settings for use at home and a list of settings to use on a cruise.  I’d be so grateful if anyone can help,  Janet1.

At home you need WiFi and data on. Bluetooth is not necessary unless you are using a car kit or remote speaker. When on land in EU country you need data on and roaming on and you can use your uk allowances. When in the ship turn everything off and turn airplane on unless they offer free WiFi, in which case just turn WiFi only on and connect to the ships WiFi connection.

Hi @Janet1 if you are going on a cruise then don’t use data or internet at all as you will be charged extortionate amount of money due the cruise lines running their own network

Hi @Janet1 A guide to charges on cruises is here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Cruise-Liners-Aircraft-Charges/ba-p/1058892

Be aware it's very expensive and you are well advised to turn your phone off and only use when you are on land and can get access to WiFi
