Rolling contract free SIM cancellation

Hi bit confused so can anyone help.The bill comes around the 6th and payment is taken on the 27th on a  contract free rolling SIM only deal.I want to cancel çan anyone suggests the best date to do this,thanks.

Just the days since the last bill so the sooner you do it, the less you'll pay.

As soon as possible.

You only pay for usage since last bill date.

Ok so my bill is always a fixed amount so if I change provider today will I still get billed in May when the next bill is due or just a portion of it it's £9 or am I best doing it a couple of days before the billing date.
