Really poor signal with new phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Ive been with o2 for as long as i can remember an never had a signal problem over the last year its been getting worse with frequent loss of service but ok most of the time. I got a new phone at christmas on o2, an xperia miro and im using my old o2 sim but my recetion is terrible, my husband is using a new o2 sim withthe same phone and having poor signal too. My signal seems to average at 1  or 2 bars sometimes none and the occassional spike to 4 then back to 1 why is this? and why is a new phone so much worse?

Have you tried the O2 coverage checker to see if you have any issues in your area

How old are your sims?

Have o2 enabled 3g in your area recently?

Have you tried turning 3g off?

yeah its a 3g sim about 2 years or so old, my last phone (not android) needed a 3g sim so o2 shop put one in and transferred my old number over, so its my 3g sim in this new phone. Coverage checker seems fine not great for 3g but 3 bars on the checker. Not sure how to turn 3g off still getting to grips with the phone but didne have this problem befor and old phone would of been on 3g i presume

if on a marginal 3g signal that could be the issue 2g if that shows as a better signal on the status checker should help the issue.
