Ordered phone upgrade online for next day collection - store told me I wouldn't receive till Tuesday

Hello,

 

I chose a phone upgrade as my phone screen was severaly damaged. I chose collection from my local O2 store as the online system stated I could collect on the 24th of August 2024 and that the phon was "in stock".

 

I then checked further on O2 and noticed that phones can be picked up same day if they are available and got concerned there was an error with the system.

 

I contacted the store and they told me that my phone had not been assigned yet and it should arrive by delivery to them, however it is unlikely to arrive until the next working day.

 

The reason I did this method was so I would have my phone ASAP. I would have purchased a phone outright and cancelled my O2 contract if I had known I had to wait until Tuesday (I already have an ongoing contract with EE due to superiror network coverage).

 

Can you please provide clarity on whether I will need to wait till Tuesday? If so, I'd like to talk about options as I don't believe I'm willing to wait.
