O2 switch up upfront cost

Does anyone know when using o2 switch up in store if you're still charged the upfront cost of the phone? I see the pixel 8 pro online has an upfront cost of £30, is this still payable when using o2 switch up in store or is it waived as it's classed as an upgrade as oppose to a new connection?

Thanks

I believe you still need to pay the up front cost @jamieleewv1 as that is part of the new contract.

Switch up just negates the previous balance - nothing to do with the new phone.
