This is a really dumb question - apologies. I have an iPhone and a SIM only monthly contract. The contract is expensive and has a low data allowance. Changing the contract will be cheaper and better. When I fill in the online order it seems to suggest I need a new SIM. Is this so? Will I have to do anything to port my existing number? I’ve tried to online chat (a joke) and can’t get into my local store. Be very grateful for advice.

You can choose to keep your current sim.
No need to change and number will stay the same.
Just make sure you are selecting to upgrade.

As mentioned, no need for new SIM on Upgrade. Some of us here have upgraded via USwitch recently. When I did and selected keep SIM there was no loss of service

Best break out the silver then; based on you all upgrading a took a peek at uSwitch and spotted they had the no 2025 price rise tariffs.
Same data for same price it is, with no increase thanks!
