Mobile data disappeared

Hi guys,

I got a message yesterday that I have used 80% of my 4GB of data. I keep track of my data all month and knew about it. Checked the O2 app and had about 650GB left. When I’m home the phone i13 mini is connected to the wifi at all times and at work the phone is in airplane mode. There is no chance that I was able to use 650GB of the data overnight at home because when I came in to work I got a message that all data is gone this month. That could be but the device I reset on the renewal date says a different story. Yesterday I had about 3.2GB of data used and today it’s 3.3GB of data with some system and app usage of total 3.4GB.
Is there a way how to track where the data was used? It’s not the first time when the data disappeared fast like this.
Thanks!!

O2 can tell you what times your data was used, but not how.

Only your phone can do that.

As you have a discrepancy, you need to discuss with O2.

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract) 4445 or 0344 8090222 (PAYG)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It might be an idea to close all of your apps - on Samsung it is "Close All" - and then just to re-open them one by one as you need them. If you keep a close eye on your data usage, that might help you to identify if one rogue app is "leaking" the missing data.

Hi and thanks for the prompt reply. I have most apps disconnected from the mobile data already. The browser is the most frequent app but it still says is about 600MB short of the 4GB allowance. I’ll contact O2 but we all know it’s pointless. Cheers anyway.

Seems like O2 doesn't give a toss about the customers. The AI on the 202 number told me to buy more mobile data and O2 FB messaging successfully ignores my message.

Just found a contract for £8 and 20GB of data but every time O2 disconnects the purchase. It's probably for new customers only. The old customers can upgrade to £35 sim only deal with 1GB of data or that's the deal the filthy O2 parasites offer me to upgrade to.

Use USwitch
https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/o2/
Choose the deal you want
This will automatically redirect you to the O2 website
Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option
Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost
Payment date is the same and your next bill will be cat a cheaper rate and will be made up of the pro rata cost of your old tariff and your new tariff
The change should show in My O2 within 24 hours
Volt benefits will still apply as will possibly a 3 month extra such as Disney+

Hi mate, already did but every time I tried to get the 20GB data tariff for £8 it goes off after selecting as a present customer. The sim only upgrades on my account are a pure insanity. Who they think I’m paying £35 for a 1GB of data?? Got my PAC so will swap O2 with something else. Thanks!!

Please let us know what you choose in the end. But I agreed that £35 for 1 Gb of data is a bizarre price !
