I recentley moved to O2, I got a plan and galaxy s21+ and I thought a 5g tariff. I have tried everywher to get a 5g signal but no joy. I phoned customer service and was promised it would be activated (Bolt On). 2 months and still waiting. Is 5g a bolt on or are o2 just slow in turning it on?
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it. I'm considering using my right to cancel as I am not being given the service I was promised.

No it's not a bolt on
You need a 5G sim and to be in a 5G area
If your area hasn't been upgraded then you won't get 5G

Has your account been 5G enabled (ie, you definitely have a 5G tariff), @MarkB1604?
And your phone is 5G-ready, but may be set to 4G rather than Auto in the Network Settings. Note there is an S21+ and a "Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G" out there....

Should be 5g enabled, thats what i applied for, and phone is switched to auto 5g

@MarkB1604 Doesn't matter if your phone is switched to 5G, or what you applied for if you're not in a 5G enabled area. You can check that here with your post code: O2 | Service Status

Just been sat in a 5g area and nothing

@MarkB1604 If that's the case, then maybe there's a fault with your phone. I would contact Samsung and let them try to sort this for you: Product Help & Support | Samsung UK

3's 5G coverage where you are may be better than O2's, unless, as pointed out above, some aspect of enabling 5G for your account on O2's backend systems has been missed, @MarkB1604.
