Please help me with an urgent issue. O2 has incorrectly added a default to my credit report that has been present for the last 11 months! I have only just discovered this and it is totally unacceptable.
I ordered a phone and contract through a 3rd party website (mobilephonesdirect). Despite searching on the network coverage before placing my order (which said I would get good coverage) when I received the handset my signal at work was poor. So I requested a return within 14 days as was my right.
Despite being in the cooling off period I was sent a bill for £527.58. I believe this was down to a delay from MPD in notifying you the phone had been returned (it was returned on 18/05).
After hours of phone calls finally I thought it was resolved and the O2 representative confirmed over the phone and via email that I would not be charged and to cancel my direct debit and ignore any further communications regarding this matter, which I did.
However, what seems to have happened is your collection departments has deemed this to be a default and as such placed a default on my credit score incorrectly. This needs to be amended immediately as it is impacting my ability to get credit severely. I also did not receive any notices of any impending defaults, nothing via email or post only the attached email stating it was overdue.
I phoned up over a week ago to resolve this and was told it would be escalated and removed but it's still not been removed from my report

Any ideas how long this will take to be removed? I've had 11 months of poor credit as a result of this and only noticed as I got a free experian trial.

@RichRoberts44 From past posts of customers having to deal with similar issues we have seen that the credit team are not particularly quick to respond.
