I have just purchased a Apple Watch direct from Apple as it is £45 cheaper than getting it from o2. Apple advertise that it works with EE/Vodafone/o2 on theirs website. Ie buy a watch from Apple and take it to a supporting network...
After setting the watch up and calling o2 to buy my £5 monthly watch esim addon, o2 stated that you can not buy the esim by its self and you need to buy a watch from them and then you get a esim to link to the account. You can not bring a watch from Apple to o2.
This sounds odd and not sure if I was mislead or if this is the truth. As the advisor I was speaking to prior told me that she will send me out a physical sim that goes in my watch, after this advice I’m worried that o2 don’t know what they are on about with the watch being a new product to o2.
It seems that o2 don’t know them selfs what is happening at the moment and can’t advise customers correctly on any aspect of the Apple Watch.
Are o2 accurate in this as it’s strange that a company like Apple would advertise buying product from them that does not work on the advertised network or have o2 got it wrong?
many thanks
