I ordered an O2 upgrade through Mobile Phones Direct nearly 4 weeks ago, my ordered hasn't progressed at all - did you ever get this resolved? MPD say they can't give me any timescale at all and are blaming O2. I'm not sure if I should just cancel, but it was the best deal I found and I'm in desperate need of a new phone!

@mrscjl A great deal is worth nothing if you don't have the phone. As you've already waited four weeks that's probably four weeks too long. I'd look for something elsewhere and with another network if they provide a good signal where you are.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

The reseller will let you purchase a new phone on contract with a new number, and leave you to transfer the number to the new contract and cancel the existing contract - all of which takes time and, with O2's messed up systems at the moment, is somewhat protracted with very little genuine assistance or feedback on where the process is...

You may find purchasing a phone from the likes of Amazon or from the manufacturer, on "interest free" payments over a number of months is cheaper than O2's offerings, and then transferring your existing SIM into that new handset will carry you.  You can then choose to go down to a SIMO contract from the likes of Uswitch.  All assuming you have time to put up with delays from the O2 side, of course.

Or go for another network, but do check out if they reach into the places you need phone signal most by using a free PAYG sim from each and discarding it at the end of the month when done - before taking on a contract with that network. Good luck @mrscjl

Did who ever get what resolved @mrscjl ?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
