I have cancelled my Virgin Media contract. Just received a deactivation message for my mobile phone from O2. Does this mean I no longer have a contract with O2?

It would appear so.although you would need to pay what you owe on the contract.
You need to contact O2.
Use any phone to call 0344 809 0202 (or Payment management number -0800 902 0217 )
Or you can message O2 on social media on Instagram https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW).

If you had an unused Virgin Media SIM, possibly. Equally it could be a spoof text, be careful. If you had an active phone contract with VM, it should have been transferred to O2 last year, along with a MyO2 account. If you try to access MyO2 https://accounts.o2.co.uk/signin and cannot login, it probably means any O2 Contract you had is terminated. Not sure if that is what you mean or need, @Pad8421 - we cannot see your account here, only VM and O2 can do that, contact details for both are in the link just below. Good luck!
