I have a pay as you go sim that I bought some time ago in England. I am resident outside England but I top the sim up every month.
In the last month or so, I get a notification that pops up on the phone telling me that if I want to keep using the +44 number (ie. The number on the sim) for messaging, I must remove the sim and put it back in.
I have done this several times but the notification keeps coming up. It is currently popping up about every hour!
What is going on? How do I stop this madness?

If you are in the EU you are limited to 63 days use outside the UK before you need to register on O2-UK.

So what?
Why the hell is it telling me to remove and re-insert the sim? ON AN HOURLY BASIS?
Maybe time to take my custom elsewhere

UK sim cards are for use in UK and temporarily whilst abroad.
All networks are the same.
If you don't want the hassle, use a sim from your country.

I read the stuff about roaming limitations and the effect on tariffs etc.
I NEVER use the allowance I get from the sim. I only got the damn thing because my son gave me the phone and it was locked to O2. I use the phone for whatsapp.
Nothing in the notifications indicate any problem with roaming limits.

It's nothing to do with allowances.
It's 63 days use in any 4 month period and then it must register back on O2-UK to reset.
