New phone number or an upgrade?

Hi There,

I'm currently thinking of signing up/buying an o2 sim package but I am not sure how it works, you see my current phone number is "controlled" as in paid by my dad and the phone number is an virgin media number and overall is under my dad's name but I don't want to use that number anymore and wanted to get a new one that's fully mine, so I decided to check the packages I am being offered at o2 and I found one which I really like, the problem is I don't know if its an upgrade of my current phone number or would I recieve a new one; the account I am using is my own account that no one has access to, I signed up like an hour ago and I'm ready to get started but I'm just not sure about the package because when signing up it aksed me to provide my current phone number which I don't want to use anymore so it's kind of confusing how it works.

You just need to sign up as a new customer.

Any number can be used when ordering as it's just a contact number.
