My imei has been reported as lost or stolen - but isn’t

I took my phone to Apple to have the back screen replaced - they couldn’t repair the device as my imei is down as lost or stolen. 

this makes no sense as I’m using the phone… it’s an upgrade from a few weeks ago. 

o2 said they couldn’t see anything / then they could. What’s going on - how do I fix this
