So I got a new Pixel 9 Pro and needed to get my O2 eSIM swapped what an absolute long winded joke this now is!

The page for SIM swap on My O2 no longer works it says they are making improvements come back later, but when it's been three days!

So I try the on line chat, that no longer works you have to do it on your phone or give them a call.

I wait on the stupid chat bot for 45minutes until someone comes on, who is obviously talking talking to others as he keeps disappearing.

He then says I will send you a new SIM, I say I don't need a physical SIM I need an eSIM QR code.

He apologises, and goes away again.

Then he comes back and says he's organised that it will arrive in the post in 1-3 days, for security purposes!

So one hour later still can't try new phone, and guess what they have cut it off completely.

What a total joke O2 are, if I wasn't on such a good Virgin SIM only  legacy contract I would be gone, I will certainly never buy anything else from them!

If you want an eSim quicker than Royal Mail can deliver @NormansPaw you need to visit your local o2 store with photo ID...

o2 have a new policy that when they post a sim out (physical or electronic) they disconnect any currently on the account - which is obviously a fantastic idea (/s)!

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

If you get a physical SIM keep it if O2 is your main number. An eSIM will only cause you grief along the line, especially with O2's stupidity

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Oh yes a 2 hour round trip to the centre of Exeter, that's really on the cards today!

That still doesn't get away from the rest of the abysmal CS issues, that happen every time I need them since moving from Virgin who I never had an issue with.

Disconnecting my  old phone (which at the moment I still have) without warning is not acceptable!

Unfortunately Google only provide a tray for one physical SIM, and two eSIMS!

Sorry to hear this. Mine has been like this for over a week now and I am 9 months pregnant with no way to call anyone. I have been into store and they cannot help and customer service are the most useless people I have ever dealt with. Hope this gets sorted soon

So here I am six days without a phone and no nearer they can't send another eSIM as I haven't activated the one I haven't received, what utter tosh.

Because they have so few stores now the only answer they tell me is a two hour round trip to get an eSIM pack you couldn't make it up, absolutely dreadful company!

They have lots of stores across the country, just some areas like all businesses it makes no commercial sense to have stores that make no money..

There is no other way to get an esim other than the post so sorry but it is what it is...

And you can have more than 2 esim profiles on a Pixel, think its up to 10 profiles, but only 2 can be used at a time..  To be honest, sims should only be used as secondary sims, as others have pointed out they cause more issues across all networks, than physical sims...
