"MY NUMBER" is WRONG

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I recently transferred my number to O2. So, I purchased a PAYG SIM and then transferred my number from Orange to O2.

In the settings of the phone, it still displays the original SIM Phone number and not "my" number that I ported over.

I have done a factory reset but nothing changed. Is there anyway to fix this?  I'm a little OCD and it's driving me crazy.

Thanks!

Andrid doesn't write to SIM card. Orange will push your number to the SIM but I think they are the only network that do this. Easiest way is an old phone, then go into the contacts settings and "My Number" then change it to your number. This will be stored on the SIM and will show correct in Android. You'll have to search Google Play for an app as I think there are a few but I've never used any so can't comment on their effectiveness.

If it is an iPhone you can go to Settings > phone and where it says my number at the top - just delete the temporary number and type in the proper one.

If it's an andriod phone you need an app off Play or put your SIM in an old nokia phone that will allow you to write to the SIM.
