My phone has been barred, even though I have paid (and have the transaction confirmation) yet whenever I get through to customer "service" (now only possibe for me via a landline) I get the same response:

"All our systems are down, please call back tomorrow".

This has been going on for 5 days now.

What the hell is going on?

Tell me about it, I have been waiting for the HTC HD2 for 3 weeks to come in to stock so I can upgrade, & yesterday they said its in stock but everytime I call them O2 say

'All our systems are down, please call back 2 hours later or tomorrow'

by the time I get though to O2 the HTC HD2 phone will be out of stock.

I just got through to upgrades - i wanted to enquire about upgrading a week early as i will be away on my upgrade date. Upgrades had access to the system and agreed, but could not give me an affordable price, so i said i would like to cancel. They said they would put me through to retentions - got through and they didn't have access, told me to call back after 3pm today.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Just got through to a really helpful chap now. Info he gave me was that systems are "patchy" due to an upgrade that "hasn't gone according to plan". However, his was working at the time I got through so all I can suggest is to keep trying.

I got though to O2 on my lunch break after 26 mins waiting,
the O2 guy said the system going down happened on Saturday & they have a group of IT
specialist working around the to fix the problem.

What I can't believe O2 being such big HiTech company worth $$$$$ can't fix their system
which has been down for over 5 days, way things are going I will be leaving O2 very soon.

o2 has been having system issues after launching an update to a system that everybody in pay monthly consumer uses. Unfortunately things haven't gone to plan so it's taken longer than expected for the update to be fully implemented meaning many advisers haven't been able to access accounts so have to ask customers to call back.

I encountered this first hand as it took several calls to be able to upgrade to the HTC HD2, I just tried every half an hour or so until I got through to somebody with a working system.

The systems aren't actually down throughout the whole company, so if you keep trying you will eventually get somebody who can help and hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

A handy hint, o2 have four sites that take consumer pay monthly calls (Glasgow, Dearne Valley, Bury and Preston Brooke) if you get told the systems are down you can always try calling up again and you may get through to a different site who's systems are working. An easy way to do this is that if you called 202 and eg: spoke to Bury, then try again on 2302 as it will always take you through to Glasgow as it's the number for iphone but they take standard pay monthly calls too.

Hope this helps grin
