outgoing calls from USA

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am trying to call home from Boston using a samsung galaxy s3. I can send and recieve texts but not make outgoing calls. The American voice message I get says 'the service you are attempted is restricted or unavailable. Please contact customer care for assistance. Message MA951.'

The phone has automatically connected me to the T-Mobile network. On another thread, someone was successful in making outgoing calls by switching to AT&T - in my case, however, the phone won't connect to At&T. What to do? I would rather not call O2 from my v expensive hotel phone. . .

Hi KasiaB,

You can send me a private message if you like and we can talk about other options on top of calling customer service.

Cheers, Toby

Get to Wifi and download Tu Go app. You can make calls via that back to the UK over the Wifi connection.

All you need do is make sure it's connected and then dial Customer Services and it'll be free.

Hmmmm, that'll be because you'll be accesing the USA play store.

Right Having a think.......
This may work,
Turn location settings off (Cell, gps, location wifi etc)
Go into airplane mode
click the link from your phone.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.tid.gconnect&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMs...

Fingers crossed the phone won't know where you are. The link is from the UK where I am and hopefully the phone will accept it.

Only problem might be that the phone will still know the location because of the Wifi.

Worth a try

You might need to turn wifi back on after going into airplane mode. Some do, some don't.

Can you receive calls???

Maybe you can get on live chat and ask them to call you??

Might end up costing the price of receiving calls but at least your through. Currently the holding times over here for Customer service is ranging from 30 mins - 3 Hours.
