Does anyone here use Twitter from their mobile? Can you confirm whether or not o2 charge for sending SMS updates? Also, did you have any problems registering your phone. I sent my verification code to the number given don't know if it's activated as I've had no reply. Although the number is a +44 they say it's an international one and am just wondering if I need to ask o2 to allow me to send to these numbers.

Are you talking about sending updates yourself or receiving them?

I just use an iphone web shortcut for twitter and hence its free.

For sending updates myself. AFAIK you can no longer recieve updates as they stopped that service...but could be wrong!

Just tried text update - and it looked like it was charging me the standard text rate (hard to tell because i get free txts).

As I say - if you have a web phone, you can do it for free and check the updates of others at the same time.

Cheers. I get free texts with my tariff but wasn't sure if they classed the number as international which is what it says on the Twitter site, even though it's a +44 prefix. I've also just ordered an upgrade and decided to try out the Samsung Pixon...but have just found out, after hours of searching the net, that there are no Twitter apps for it so it may have to go back. I currently use Fring which I quite like.

Just tested if again And therewas no charge so I assume your texts will be free with your package (iPhone tells you balance after each call/text. Quite useful.

Can you not get the net on your phone?

There are many twitter clients out there for a whole variety of phones.
I'm a twitter user and never use text. Might as well come out of my data allowance.

Well I've changed my tariff slightly so now got the web bolt on as I intend to use the net more. I found lots of Twitter clients for iPhone and S60 but Samsung has its own OS and haven't been able to find client for it yet, hence being stuck with texts or net if I stick with the Pixon. Always been a Nokia user and currently have the N95 using Fring, which is good. If I can't find anything for the Pixon I'm going to have to look at another phone...but there's nothing else o2 do that I really want. Although I don't 'need' a client it's just a easier and neater way of doing what I want.

If it wasn't for the cost and poor camera (which I use lots) then I might be tempted by the iPhone.

the iPhone camera is good enough for most things.

2mb is adequate for all web work and will print well to a considerable size.

Try it - apple isn't in the habit of making daft mistakes.
Bigger chips will still be limited by lentil sized optics and file sizes just get silly.

I have a 7mb camera and always have to batch process down to low res.
Thousands of 2mb pics take sheds of pointless room.

If I need a print quality pic, I generaly want to choose ISO settings, depth of field, shutter speed and pull focus.

Snapping is what the iphone is good for.

And the apps for instant uploading from .me to facebook are excellent.

Try one - the user interface is absolutely delightful.

And noone regrets spending too much on something that gives them pleasure.

The number of people regretting spending too little...

TinyTwitter Can't compare with iPhone apps but will work on Samsung and is better than sending text
