Sudden Unexplained Drop in Phone Reception levels

Anonymous
Not applicable

I live in CV22 area. In the last 6 weeks it has become impossible to hold a phone conversation indoors or outdoors for more than 30 seconds before the signal fluctuates from 1/2 bars GPRS to no service. Before that for years it has been on the poor side of fine. Internet was appalling but that has improved. However the phone signal has suddenly become unusable. The phone works fine in other areas. Overall in this area, and down to Southam, south in the county, across to Daventry, west of the county, the signal has been consistenly appalling and the shocking level of service seems to have 'bled' to our immediate area too. My neighbours have noticed the same thing. Yet the service checker says all is well and sparkly.  I am very fed up as I make a lot of business calls and now have to use the landline which has required buying a phone. Why has this happened and why when I phone 02 do they always tell me everything is fine. Not happy. And we hear all about how amazing the new internet services are going 02 can't even get our phone signals sorted out.

Hi Beach

It does seem lots of people are suffering from mast congestion as well as mast issues.

I would suggest downloading the MYNETWORK app to report your masts ,and ask others on O2 in your area to do the same.

You mention business Calls. Are you on a business tariff ? If so look at the option of a Boostbox.

If on pay monthly contract look at o2's service of Tugo which works off home broadband Wifi.

Other options are Whatsapp and Viber as examples but these need to be used by the other parties too.

Hope things get better for you.

Network future by 2017 which is a long way off for people experiencing issues 😞 is http://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/network-coverage/the-next-big-thing

CS will only go by the service checker, so if that says "good" that's all they have to go on.
Yourself and all the other people you know having problems, should report the issues regularly, then the'll investigate.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
