O2 your customer service is appalling. I have posted my experience to my blog, tell me how do you expect to attract and retain customers when your service is so bad?
So, I was excited when I saw that the new Nexus 7 LTE was going to be on sale in the UK. For the launch O2 got exclusive rights to the first sales.
I thought I would give them a shot and pre-ordered the device on the 3rd September, when I placed the order the website gave me an order confirmation page. I was expecting a conformation email as you do with most online purchases.
Later that day I checked my email and there was still no confirmation. I web chatted O2 customer services, that’s where the trouble began!
Below is the order confirmation that the website gave me (I never did get a confirmation email) and below that cut and pastes of the various web chats I have had to try to get a refund.

Avery: I've pulled out the information and would like inform you, that the maximum time frame for the refund is 14 days.
Avery: If you don't get the refund in this time frame, then we'll be taking action for it.

Tony: however i have been told by various advisers different timescales from 3 days to 7 days
Tony: and 14 days seems a little long to make an electronic transaction
Avery: Tony, I'm sorry that you've been waiting for this.
Avery: I can understand your concern, but usually it takes lesser time for the refund transaction to be done.
Avery: But there also a maximum time limit of 14 days for the refund team to process the refund and if they fail in that time, then we arrangement for that.
Tony: so 14 days from the 3rd is the 17th, should the credit be made by then?
Tony: Avery, i have to go, i will keep an eye on my account and contact you on the 17th if the credit is not applied

Sorry to read of your issues.
When dealing with such issues and requests connected to an o2 account we always advocate contacting o2 Customer Services by telephone, and not using Live Chat when a member comes here and asks the question.

Live Chat are non Uk outsourced Callcentres and are ok for low level general enquiries.
Has the monies been returned to you ?
We hear so many times of online orders going out of stock or the phone does not arrive on the allotted delivery date. Its seems to affect all the Network Homepages/ Forums.
Personally I prefer to visit the shop and walk out with the phone but I'm lucky that the city centre is not that far away and appreciate its not always convenient for some.

@bandofbrothers I have tried to talk to someone at O2 about this issue, when i call O2 from my mobile i get through to enterprise support because i have an O2 business mobile number. They can never put me through to someone that can help. I would much prefer to talk to someone then use web chat.

This order was a pre order the device was not available to go into a shop to buy.
@jonsie no offence but your response was not helpful at all! Should I really have to file a formal complaint for such a simple transaction?

You shouldn't have to to be honest but you are obviously annoyed about it. O2 take your money instantly but trying to get a refund is fraught with frustration and stress as you have found. I would be making a complaint, not to get your money back, but to highlight these things. It shouldn't be so difficult to get refunds. I work in a bank so I know the timescales for refunds and I do know the delay you are experiencing is not acceptable.

the moderators are not staff they are just moderators adhering to o2's rules.
Where as Toby and Chiara are o2 employees and maybe able to help.
As it is a payg deal the advise on the contact us page is to call your normal number.
