Porting - online form!

I submitted the online form to port my number several days ago and have been waiting for the changeover which didn't happen. Today, I have spoken with a fantastic staff member of O2 who was honest enough to tell me that the online porting request form doesn't work (promote her to head of operations) and that my bill will be reduced next month due to the inconvenience.

Hopefully all will be as it should in a few days (we are about to go into weekend then New Year bank holiday).

Perhaps it would be wise to remove the online request facility??

Happy New Year when it arrives.

@Martin-O2 is this true? If it doesn’t work then it needs removing or fixed

@TheLuddite

This is the first time I have heard that the online form doesn't work?

I will ask one of our community managers @Martin-O2 or @Marjo to ask about this

Thanks for reporting it anyway.

There have been quite a few reports that the online form hasn't worked. Like anything, there needs to be someone at the other end to open and action the porting. hat will be were the failure happens and it seems that O2 ignore all online forms nowadays. Something so easy to fill in and something which would make porting as simple as possible without the need to wait for a free agent either when calling or using the now inoperative chat options.

A lesser person might draw the conclusion that the team that keeps the on-line forms working might be working for the same outfit that provide the on-line or talk-to agents...?  thinking

No, surely not! Jaw-dropping

Live chat is still not available this morning. An absolutely useless substitute for UK call centres.

I have had the same issue and thank you for mentioning about the form. My daughter is coming over form EE who have amazing customer service and I wanted to bring her number over to O2 with a new phone we got for her for christmas. 5 days later and still no port. Ive just filled the form in agian only to search afterwards and find your post, another wasted effort.
Chat windows do not work and I am really doubting my descision to of brought her over to O2!

There is no substitute for calling and speaking to a human being.
It doesn’t always work first time but your chances are much higher.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.
