O2 Closed

Is it just me or does anyone else find it unhelpful that o2's customer services are not open 24hours? As far as I can remember all of the other mobile providers have 24hour customer support. I don't expect to call my landline provider and get an out of hours answer phone. Should we not expect better than slightly extended office hours from o2?

Cheers

O2's mobile phone customer services are UK based and so operate in UK hours (unlike the broadband customer services which are 24/7). we're the only network to be 100% uk based for customer services far as I'm aware slight_smile

I have never had problems with o2 customer services and to be honest always excellent service. So to be honest as I do they same job I would rather they didn't have to work nights or else someone may suggest I do as well.

Apart from that I often have a drink with a few of them and they are good fun at the party! grin

Is it true that email support is based abroad?

I'm just going by forum comments, people keep saying they're through to someone in India and I keep saying they're not.

I think they can't accept that O2 have UK staff with Asian names. 😐

Thanks for clearing that up.

Not wanting to get into the prejudices of some in this country but we have lots of how can I put it (indian ethnicity) workers born and bred here where I work and yes I have had to take over complaints from folks thinking they are talking to Mumbai or similar. The agents probably speak better English than the customer or me for that matter but you can't stop some peoples views.

Saying that I have had a call from a advisor at a job centre plus in London trying to help a customer and I honestly asked if I could provide him with a translator ( the JCP advisor not the customer). Would have been much easier trying to talk to a well trained advisor abroad.

Totally agree, if half the people who complained here could read and write in their native tongue life would be a lot easier, but they are quick to complain if they think they're through to a foreign call centre. 😐

o2 telephone support is 100% UK based.

Email service for pay monthly consumer accounts is based in India. The same company also handles much of o2's back office work i.e. number transfers, complex credit calculations etc.
