New phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have just got a new phone on O2 contract. Got it home and found the my mobile data speed was terrible. Checking my phones settings I found that my mobile network type was GPRS. Checking the O2 coverage in my area I found that I could get 3G900 OK. Is there anyway I can get 3G900 with my present phone and the network type that I have? I am not very clever with all the terminology

many thanks.

If you tell us which phone you have we can advise you on the settings you should have. Normally texting ACTIVE to 2020 will then get the settings sent to you from O2 which you then save as default to the phone.

In settings is your 3G turned on.

On new connections and sim swaps it can take 24 hrs to get everything working. One tip is to turn your phone off and on intermittently throughout the day.

As said by Jonsie please advise which phone your using.
