Can't cancel Phones4u upgrade to o2!??!? HELP!!?!

So... I went onto the phones4u website and I upgraded my o2 number as the contract runs out on 13th October 2013 so it is a few days away.

 

I decided that I wanted to cancel the order for the upgrade but phones4u say that I cannot cancel an upgrade order as it states this in their Ts&Cs.

 

They also said to me that the order wont be processed until the 13th October when my current o2 contract runs out so I will receive my phone on 14th October.

 

How can I not cancel my order with Phones4u when they haven't even processed it yet? 


Is there any way at all that I can cancel the Phones4u order? my contract hasnt even run out so I dont understand what the issue is 😞

Your O2 account wouldn't cancel for 30 days (notice period), but call CS on 202 and see if they can block the upgrade from going through.....

The issue is with Phones4U and not O2 but they have to allow you a 14 day cancellation period, by law.... Maybe they are saying you have to take the upgrade first and then cancel it?

Maybe you could ask O2 to not approve the upgrade ??

I will give them another call and find out. I am just so annoyed because the order hasnt even been approved or anything so I cant understand why they just cant cancel it for me.

 

What if I cancelled my account now with o2? can they still upgrade me if I have cancelled?

You usually have to receive the phone and then go back and cancel the contract. As stated this is something O2 can't help you with. One of the few drawbacks of upgrading through an independent.

Simple answer, they can do it.

 

Usual answer, they won't do it.

 

Reason - it is more work for them to think outside the box.

 

Push for the cancellation with P4U, don't accept no for an answer.

As it stands right now... I cannot cancel the upgrade from being submitted as told by P4U but because my contract doesnt end till 12th October I am not elgible till then to upgrade. Therefore, P4U cant put the upgrade through.

 

I asked the woman from P4U what would happen if I upgraded right now through O2 (because no 3rd party could then upgrade me) and she advised me that I would not be elgible for the P4U contract.

 

Sooooooo that means I can get out of a contract with P4U as long as I upgrade with O2.

 

Thanks for your help guys... I am yet to work out what to do.
