iPhone 5s network problems

Anonymous
Not applicable
I recently moved over from 3 and purchased an iPhone 5s. I have recently noticed that the 4g signal is not as stable as I thought it would be and occasionally the phone switches to GPRS. I have had the phone checked over in an apple store and everything appeared to be working fine. I have swapped the SIM card over too. This is only an intermittent issue and don't want to swap or exchange my phone unnecessarily. Is anyone else out there in 02 land having this issue? Or any suggestion on fixes?

The reality is that this is fairly common, esp if you are on the fringe of 4G coverage.

Have you checked the service status checker for masts maintenance etc.

Also download the MYNETWORK app to report the masts if all is showing as good.

If their are people you know in your area in O2 with the same issue then ask them to do the same.

If you have home wifi and this us happening at home then perhaps look at TuGo if on contract.

What's app and viber are alternatives.

To add ;

Usually turning airplane mode on and off helps reset the connection.

Or

Settings . General . Reset . Reset network settings can help.

At the home the wifi is strong and stable no issues there. This makes me think it's more likely to be a network issues than a hardware problem. Do you agree?

Yes.

If it was the phone then you'd be possibly having the same issue everywhere.

My signal drops from 4G to 3G when commuting and in some cases GPRS.

Wifi at home has no bearing on 2g 3g or 4g issues on an iphone hardware issue.

Have you checked the status and predicted 4g levels in the areas you are experiancing issues on the links already given?

Is it dropping to gprs when you get a call? (if so this is what happens as 4g is data only)
