iPhone 5 calls dropping after 2 minutes

Hi, i'm having problems with my iphone 5. After around 2 minutes of every phone call (incoming and outgoing) the call goes silent. The call duation timer still continues but there is no sound at my end and i can't be heard at the other end. I've tried turning the phone off and leaving it a few minutes before restaring but this hasn't worked. Not sure if this is an O2 issue or a problem with the handset. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd pop into an O2 shop and get a sim swap first.
Also, if you book an apple genius appointment they will check your phone for you so you know if it's OK or not.

Hi.

Following on from MI5's advice.

Try a reset of your iPhone by ;

Hold the Top Button and Home Button until the Apple Logo appears, and then let go of both. Your iPhone will reset.

And or ;

Settings , General , Reset , Reset All Settings.

Sometimes making a back up and restoring your phone via iTunes can help.

If you do seek a genius bar appointment then do create a back up to iTunes and or iCloud just in case they swap it out for you.

Let us know how you get on.

Will be interesting to know the outcome of this one Ricki, as it is a very weird one to me, especially the issue happening after roughly the same period of time. I have never had this issue *touches wood*

All three iphone 5s in our house (Croydon) have picked up the same problem. I was told by O2 to switch off 3G and hope it gets fixed. It could apparently be related to 4G switch over work? Still the same after 3 weeks....

The problem that may happen here is if a person upgrades to a 4G tariff then the ability to switch off 3G is taken away.
