iPhone 4s Contact Names Missing from SMS messages

I've recently updated to iOS 6.1.2 and contact names are now missing from SMS messages.  I have re-booted the phone which didn't restore the names. Does anyone have any other ideas about how to fix this issue please?

You could try a restore from backup in itunes but first go to Settings > General > Reset, and select Reset Network Settings.

Thanks for trying to help, tried both and neither have worked 😞

It seems that my contact list has added +44 to all my numbers.  Could this be part of the problem?

Possibly. Change one of the contacts by reverting it back without the +44 and see if it then shows the name in a message received previously from them.

Is there anything in the settings such as settings>>phone>>international assist?

Unfortunatly jonsie is correct I just updated and spent the last half hour changing numbers back to 07 which fixed it.

Only other way is on jailbroken phones:(

What is it with Apple that causes this issue? I have all my numbers in international format and they show contact names fine?

It's the "geniuses" whom break something every time they fix the previous breakage

I mean most of my contacts have email addresses assigned to them. Yet if a mail is sent to me it appears in a different conversation rather than the name it is from. They're linked ffs:(
