phone unlocking

Hi, i have recently broken my phone and would like to use my old o2 device. i am currently on vodafone so would need to unlock my old phone. i have tried filling in the unlock aplication form which asks for the phone number linked to my account, i have not been with o2 for over 3 years and my old phone number has been re-allocated. The unlock request was denied due to it no longer being my phone number. I have tried calling o2, who are only taking calls for reporting fraud or a stolen device. any advice on how i could get around this would be much apriciated.

Either get a P&G sim and unlock it that way or keep calling
