galaxy note 1 upgraded to 4.1.2 - now cant connect to o2 and screen lock missing

I am at a loss as what to do now.

I have upgraded to 4.1.2. yesterday and it worked fine for a few hours.

Then the screen lock disappeared.  it wont work at all.

The screen just goes blank and then when pressing the power button comes straight back.

Then it has got worse, it wont connect to o2 network now.

so no calls or txts, only mobiel internt.

I have tried a factory reset, and searched the web/here and I am stuck.

The guru, did'nt help and suggested that I need to take it to an "o2" shop, to have the phone checked and then downgraded to the previous firmware.

I am not sure that the "o2" shop will be able to downgrade, and to top that I cant get to a shop until next Saturday, so if anyone has any other ideas i can try please let me know?

Thanks

R

Hi Again,

I have just noticed that the IMEI number is now not what is on the phone.

How on earth did that happen with the download to 4.1.2.

Any ideas how i can set it back to the correct one instead of  004999010640000

It seems googling this is a common problem. It would probally explain the connection issue, but maybe not the screen lock issue.

Unfortunately its all connected. Your EFS file is corrupt. There's nothing more you can do.....

Just out interest, did anything strange or different happen prior to you losing signal and lock screen issue? Battery go flat or anything like that?

I've got exactly the same problem - screen lock not working, power button just switching straight off with no menu and can't register with O2 network. Upgraded a few days ago to 4.1.2 and only just got it set back up how I liked! It was fine until midway through today too.

I'll forward this to o2 - don't want to lose my phone but sounds like there is no choice!

Sounds like a bug in the firmware is corrupting the EFS file. Check your IMEI if it's defaulted to all zeros or a 0049 number it'll have to go in to be reflashed.
