I purchased the device on the 27th December and it was delivered about 3 days later.

I haven’t dropped it,it hasn’t came into contact with any liquids, but yesterday it decided that the left half of the screen would become unresponsive.

i first tried and wiping it with a glasses wipe, and then a non static cloth, in case there was some sort of smudge affecting the screen,no luck.

i tried the following steps https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00232838

no luck, and that’s when I did something stupid, I thought “what about a factory reset.”

and obviously no luck. I  now can’t finish set up.

i have tried to call o2 083448090202 on multiple occasions, but no answer.

is there anyway I can fix an unresponsive touch screen at home?

@Robertpsmith594 Your phone is practically brand new. Send it in under warranty for repair. O2 customer service numbers are here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Use the Upgrade, Lost/Stolen, or Fraud option if you have to, to get through. Otherwise you'll just be disconnected.

Below is alternative advice from an O2 Guru on how to get through.
Call 202 from your mobile.
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.

You should go through O2 first, but you can also contact Sony UK support, although it sounds as if you've already visited the site: Support for Mobile Phones & Tablets | Sony UK

@Robertpsmith594

As it is less than 30 days since you received the phone, O2 should arrange a doorstep replacement with a brand new phone.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
