Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F)

Anonymous
Not applicable

Am NOW proud owner of a Note 4. (Powered by KitKat 4.4.4 + Sim Free)

Any tips on getting the best out of it on o2.

When Lolipop is ready will I get it quickly OTA rather than waiting for a network to approve? (like in past)

Thanks for any input.

(Hopefully Samsung will keep it tuned-up as Sony let my SP down!)

I guess depending on whether you're on PAYG, or Sim Only you can make the most out of O2's own Apps such as TU Go, Priority Moments, O2 WiFi to name but a few!

It depends on whether you bought it from o2 which it will be network approved & have bloatware for definite. If you got from CPW or directly from Samsung then you should get it straightaway

Thanks for replies....

Have downloaded some apps like o2 ones (via myapps in play store)

I'm on o2 pay monthly.

It was a prize so totally free of any network.  (TG no bloatware after 10+ yrs @ o2 handsets)

In that case you should get the update straightaway

For clarity as your Note 4 (you LUCKY THING! !!!) is not locked to any network (i.e. when you turn it on it doesn't show
a networks logo filling up the front screen) then you won't have to wait for the network to review the update first.

When Samsung release lollipop they will do it in batches and when it is your turn your phone will download it. I would recommend you do this on wifi as it can be a fair chunk of data.

You could use Samsung Kies when lollipop is released if you really can't wait but I personally wouldn't recommend it.

I am assuming you know how to check for firmware updates but just in case

Settings
General
About device
Software update
Check for updates

I would make sure the Auto update box and the Update only over wifi box are both ticked.
