Samsung Galaxy Ace non existent text message

Anonymous

Hi, my Samsung galaxy ace is showing a non existent text message. I clear the pull down notification but as soon as I start using the mob, the text msg alert shows at the top and there's a constant number 1 showing at the bottom. I've tried looking for tw launcher in All settings but there isn't one, as mentioned in a previous thread dated June last year. Is there any more help available please?

I've tried that too. When I tap it I expect to go to the message but it no longer exists. Instead it gives me a blank text message to start. So....I sent a text message to the sender of the rogue text to see if that would 'use it' but no luck. The only option I get is to discard it. Which I do. But it doesn't. I feel a reformat coming on...the mob is due for upgrading at the end of March but I think I can do it a month early. I'm loathe to reformat in case I lose something important...

It's sounding like that's becoming your only option..... Use something like "Myphone Explorer" to back up and you'll have everything safe, but it's still a major PITA!!

Thanks for all your help M15, it's greatly appreciated. And it's moved me up a level apparently, Beginner, so can't all be bad lol. And thanks for the back up info too, I'd rather have advice from someone than find something in the 'Yellow Pages'. Need to do some research before next mob but I do like Samsungs so maybe the S3....thanks again slight_smile

No worries mate. Sorry I couldn't help more. Some problems are easier "hands on" than by forums.... I can recommend the S3 if you are a Samsung fan or the Nexus 4 if you want pure android....

Did you get this sorted in the end. If so, how? My son's galaxy ace has the same problem!
