Samsung Galaxy Ace battery has what looks like expanded and therefore will not fit in the phone.

I am unsure whether my phone would be under guarantee to get a replacement battery or that I would need to buy a new one.

Hope somebody can help me out.

Many thanks

Alex

Is the battery not covered for the duration like the phone?

That's pathetic.  I know batteries don't last forever (what does) but they should at least be covered for the same length as the main phone!

Apple would swap the phone wink

No it isn't as the battery is covered for the full length of the warranty, all phone's should be the same.

Just because you can take the battery out of a device doesn't mean it should only be covered for a fraction of the warranty.

You would think so but there are so many variables with the battery appertaining to usage, charging etc. At least you can replace the battery at a relative low cost. Not what the OP would like to hear obviously.

It is....
Out of warranty battery replacement by apple is over £60 + not having phone whilst battery is replaced.
Same 5 min DIY for Galaxy is less than 5 mins & £15.

Now if you want to discuss how long warranty periods should be...........?
