Problem with receiving and sending texts and calls

Anonymous

I got a new phone for Christmas, a samsung GT-S3350, and 90% of the time, it won't receive texts or calls, when I try to make a call it says "emergency calls only", when I try to check my balance it says "not done", when I try to send texts it says "error sending message. I do have credit, and I also have signal but it still doesn't work.

It also has a new O2 sim.

It worked for a while when I first set it up, but then stopped for no reason.

Things I have tried so far:

-Turning it off and on again.

-Turning it off, taking out the battery, and cleaning the sim card, and blowing in the phone. (This made it work for about 10 mins, but now it won't make it work.)

-Going into Settings>Network>Network Selection> Automatic (Didn't work)

-Going into Settings>Network>Network Selection>Manual, Connecting to a different network, getting a "failed" message, and connecting back to O2. (Only worked once)

I texted "active" to 2020, and I got some configuration messages sent to me, and it says that my phone should now be set up.

I didn't transfer my old number to a new sim. It's a new sim card, with a new number. slight_smile

did you have your number ported to your new sim from an old sim, checked the status checker for issues in your area, restored your phone to its original settings, rebooted the phone

Try texting active to O2 on 2020.

If that does not work then it maybe the firmware needs updating or a factory reset is needed.

I concur. If these don't resolve the issues then you an unactivated or indeed a faulty SIM.
