WiFi Calling Pixel. Very unreliable.

Hi all,

I have a Pixel 6 and have Wifi Calling enabled on my O2 Pay Monthly and on my phone (including "Call over Wi-Fi" set as the Calling preference). The reason is that I live somewhere with a terrible phone reception for O2 (and other networks).

Since I started using it a year ago, it has been very unreliable. By unreliable, I mean, sometimes my phone shows that it is connected to Wi-Fi calling, other times it says no signal (i.e. not connected to Wi-Fi nor O2). This is sometimes resolved by restarting my phone, but not always. Then it just connects again randomly.

It was stable for a few months late last year I believe, but then started by very unreliable again. I think this was associated with a new version of android that came out a month or two back.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

If memory serves me right this has come up before.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@benjnicholls

We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from here.

Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (Contract) OR 4445 or 0344 809 222 (PAYG)

Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.

@benjnicholls

I'd reach out to Google for help. As mentioned, it is a known issue and any help you can give to Google to resolve will be helpful.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

As I said, we are all customers like yourself but I would expect looking into your account would allow customer services to see the problem with My O2.

I found the bigger thread on this issue, so will jump on that one rather than duplicate here.

@benjnicholls Do you have another phone that you could try to connect to your home WiFi?
