Just had a call from a mobile saying I phoned them and they are returning my call. Second time this has happened recently. Worried my number has been cloned.

@Mags22 Your number has probably been spoofed: Number spoofing scams - Ofcom

Nothing can be done about it at present, but fortunately it doesn't last long.

I've had several calls like this, was wondering if there is anything I  could do to stop it or should I change my number.

As per @Bambino's advice above:

Your number has probably been spoofed: Number spoofing scams - Ofcom

Nothing can be done about it at present, but fortunately it doesn't last long - then they move onto the next number, @SJ8.

I had my own mobile number call me once - about 2 weeks of "Hi, why'd you call my number?" calls back to my phone, then nothing 🤞

@SJ8

it can be worth undertaking a Google search for your number. it might give you a clue as to what is going on.

Slightly different circumstances, but I knew someone who was inundated with calls wanting a taxi. After a few days, it transpired that a taxi firm's new website contained a typographical error - their 'phone number was one digit out and my acquaintance was receiving their calls ! 👍
